Am at home since about 70 minutes ago. Tea and toast=yum. I should really write CI now. Nothing else to do. Hmm. Yes I shall. The Starless Awards has been made longer, now they won't present the results for another two weeks. Meow. Anyway...
Random announcement: I love The Afflicted ones! Squee! I converted Malin this weekend with the re-run on Saturday and the new eppie last night. It was awesome. Joachim, whom we've both fallen in love with, is doing better and acting cool and stuff. Me like. He's snapped out of his depression and is really determined to find out what happened to his brother, who was a Gifted one. Now he has hooked up with Anna-Lena, a character who falls into these trances where she hunts down Gifted people whose names are written on a list she wrote while in a trance, touches them and senses if they have chosen the dark side or not. If they have she shoots them from a roof and then she wakes up and feels terrible about what the force makes her do. She went to Joachim's brother's house because his name was on her list and when Joachim told her he was dead she refused to answer his questions and left. He tracked her down and she grudgingly admitted certain things. Unfortunately he's still convinced that there's a government concpiracy behind everything and that his brother didn't kill his family. (Which he did.) But he'll come to his senses I'm sure. ;-)
A mentally handicapped young man who had camelion powers and used them to rape his shrink (he dropped the illusion when he was coming stupidly enough) was chosen by Darkness who gave him a very manipulative speech about how on her team he would be accepted for who he was. Bitch.
Last episode sniper!Anna-Lena killed a guy (while Joachim was talking to him and got his face splattered with blood, poor thing) who had chosen the dark side and whose power was to make people speak the truth. His problem was that people lied to him, the officials had wrongly accused his company of committing all sort of violations and then lied to cover their asses. (I think he's based a real man who lost his business and is now suing the government.) At first he used his powers to get legal justice, so far so good. But then he decided to humiliate the law offical by making her reveal all sorts of juicy details about her life on videotape, and that was when Darkness claimed him as hers. And then of course he got shot soon after. ;-)
This episode had a parallell. An innocently convicted man is released from jail after nine years. It turns out a cop framed him for a murder he himself committed and then poked his eye out. Now the one eyed ex-con has the power of conjuring up people's worst fears. (Cliché, I know I know...) But still, this guy is cool. He found out the only guard who had been nice to him in jail was the cop's son and had only done it to protect his dad. He gave the guard illsuions that his kids were being killed and told him he wouldn't stop until the guard turned his father in.
The old cop himself was terrified of losing his five senses and when the one eyed ex-con showed up he stripped his senses away one by one until the cop was kneeling at his feet, begging for forgiveness. Disgusted he said "You're not worth it" and released the illusion. When the cops took the old cop away he left the guard alone just like he promised and drove away. Light, in her white little sassy coat, came to him in the garage and told him he had made a wise choice. He was the first one since Joachim's brother to choose the good side (and look what happened to him!) and Malin and I were like "Yeah... they need a cool guy like that!" He asked who she was and she said "Someone who needs you terribly." Yum.
Anyway, it's a shame we have to wait six days for the next eppie!
