Feb. 3rd, 2005 04:58 pmThe kick-off last week as OK although it was not as fun as the 2003 one, had the same troubadour who sang the same songs, and we got no alcohol whatsoever. (WTF?) One really fun thing happened though.
Ever since the conference in May, a model ship has been passed around the departments every other month or so. The department who wins the ship decides who they will give it next to, and writes the motivation down in the accompanying log book for all to see. Last time the ship had been awarded our IT department for their hard work in moving us all to a new computer data base, one custom designed for Telge.
At dinner time at the kick-off the time had come to pass the ship on and they gave it to us! In their motivation they said they had first thought about giving the ship to the department who had been most affected by the system change but had decided to leave that behind all together and base their decision on something else, namely "an ambitious and professional view on future salesmanship."
