Well, I'm back online! My e-mail still is a bit messy but I got my DSL back. *clings* Tears of joy, indeed. Quick update - Last Friday our department had a crayfish party at one of my co-worker's house. The only one who couldn't make it was one woman who was sick. It turned out she had been really mean at the office lately and our boss told us he was having meetings with personel about her next week. Yikes! It's very relieving that they are acknowledging the problem at last. The rest of us had a very good time. We got strawberry wine and snacks when we arrived. We had a contest (air gun, dart bord etc) which Lena won. We then went inside to eat crayfish and drink schnapps and sing drinking songs. Everyone got really drunk and it was pleasant. I didn't drink beer so I got vodka and orange juice to go with the schnapps instead. :-) After the crayfish we dug in on the buffay platter he had bought. Rost beef, ham, turkey, potato salad, fruits & cheese. Very yummy. Roland (who had only had a light beer and a tiny bit of wine) went home around eight pm. After that there was coffee and cake. We gave Clea the gifts (a potted orchide and scented candles) and wished her well in her studies. We'll miss her but she'll be back to work during the summers, I'm sure. Around nine thirty Ingemar (who had only had light beer) gave Clea and Lena a ride home. I and the two Björns (Björn S, the boss and Björn O, our humble host) talked and drank and ate some more. I tried a whiskey and we chatted about work. When I went to the bath room I overheard Björn O saying he liked everyone (he was even starting to like Ingemar!) besides that woman and how he didn't want the department to be ruined by one person. Eventually Björn O's wife came home from her job. She was very pleasant and we chatted a bit. They had a very lovely house, white, bricks, wooden floor, fire places, brand new kitchen. We had candles burning and it was very nice. At around eleven the boss's girlfriend came to pick him up and drive me home. It took a bit of guiding to get her to find the right house. :-) Then she talked a bit with everyone before we departed. I was home right after midnight. Then of course I had another week of vacation!
On Monday night I went to the movies and saw The Island. There was a pleasant looking man in his sixties sitting in the same row as me. I fantasized about asking him out to dinner but I would never have the nerve. :-) He had parked his bicycle in the lobby, very endearing. I spontaneously went into a cafe on my way home. It was very old fashioned and I took my pie and tea upstairs to what seemed to be a turn of the century apartment. Very nice.
On Tuesday I went to Taxinge castle. I tried bathing but it was so cold I only went as far as my waist. I bought a candle holder in the crafts shop and had a treat from their famous cake buffay. Coming back to town around seven, I bought a pasta salad from Wayne's Coffee and went back to watch a good show on TV & eat.
On Wednesday I went to the gym and after that I did some shopping. Malin was coming over after work and I wanted to make something from the new Weight Watcher's cookbook I had picked up on Monday. I made pork file with baked root vegetables and figs. She liked it muchly. For dessert, I made blueberry muffins. After three hours or so I needed to leave for my first ever Amnesty group meeting. I have been a member for three years but I haven't been active in the local group. They turned out to be very sleepy. :-) But it was nice.
On Thursday I went to Malin's and helped her search for her silk teddy, which she didn't find. I helped her clear out the storey room a bit though. I was there for a couple of hours. On Friday I started work. I managed to go through most of the paperwork that had piled up during my vacation but not all of it. :-) I wanted one day back at the office before the course. Malin flew to England, where she still is, to attend the Eve Radio party and meet her cyber boyfriend. (She had a plan B if it didn't work, LOL.)
I e-mailed my dear friend Kristin and went on town (main street is three minutes from my flat) to buy some food and treats. It was nice to see all the people out, feel the good mood in the air. I went back and took a shower and cooked. I watched The Forgotten which was OK, and K-19 which was on TV.
Yesterday, I listened to the live feed from the Eve Radio party in England. I heard Malin's friend but not Malin. I sent her an sms but I didn't get a reply. I want to know if Plan A went ahead!
I then fell asleep on the couch before I could eat the apple pie I had made for dessert. I woke up several hours later and turned on the radio. The night show was playing and they asked people to e-mail requests. I did, and the DJ then said on the radio that you should always write your telephone number. I immediately knew it was my mail she was referring to. :-) So I went back online and saw that she had responded. I mailed her my number and settled on the bed again. She called after five minutes or so.
She and the other DJ were very friendly and talked almost exclusively about my apple pie that I had just put in the oven. They wanted to know why I was baking a pie at three thirty in the morning. :-) Thet played Alphaville's Big in Japan for me and I said it reminded me of the summer of 2000 when I discovered all their albums (I didn't mention Malin though.) After the song, I ate my pie and e-mailed Kristin.
Today I picked up my copy of When a Fan Hits the Shit, which unfortunately enough has some parallells to my own life. Enjoyable book! I also went to Malin's and fed Douglas & petted him for a while. Tomorrow our department goes away on a two day course on an island in the archipelago. The course is about learning to be a better salesmen. I look forward to it. And we get single rooms! The luxury! Lol, it means I can read in peace and watch TV.
