Lunch, reading, parents
Jul. 5th, 2006 12:22 pmDuring July the cafeteria is closed. August 1, a new caterer takes over. The old staff (two elderly ladies) has been let go with a year's salary.
In the mean time it has been arranged so that we can eat lunch at the local pizzeria instead. If you read my LJ last summer you'll know that I spent every lunch for a couple of months there.
This is good for reasons: A) nice walk, B) nice food and C) reading opportunities. I think I read the bulk of HBP there last year.
I am reading two books now: Return of the King which I picked up again a couple of weeks ago with the intent to finish it, and The Amber Spyglass which is the final part of the His Dark Materials - trilogy.
My parents are on a week long "tour" in the middle of Sweden right now. They start with the family reunion the first weekend of July and then visit their children and various relatives. Yesterday it was my turn. Mom and I went to the grocery store and was almost over run by a careless mopedist! Grr. We bought pizzas and veggies and ice cream.
The evening was spent watching the game, eating, me fixing the computer/s, eating strawberries. We locked the dog in the pantry and Ragnar roamed freely without incident. I slept on the couch and they slept on my bed.
This morning we had a slow breakfast and around lunch we drove around to check out some neighbourhoods before they dropped me off at work.
