Back in Norrland :-)
Aug. 6th, 2008 10:02 amSince my parents have bought a new computer and gotten an Internet connection at long last, I thought I'd take the opportunity to go online for a bit.
I arrived here at ten past nine last night. I arrived at the air port in good time and the plane was then thirty minutes late, so I had a lot of waiting to do.
I've been reading the new translations of Lord of the Rings on and off since 2005. It's one of those things I wanted to have done in life. After having Return of the King on my office desk for a year, I finally picked it up again two weeks ago. (Yeah, work has been so slow I've gotten a lot of time to read. >_<)
On the plane I managed to finish Book VI (?), the one where the ring is destroyed. This means I only have 100 pages left. I'll try to read every day of my vacation.
Today we're going to drive to the cabin, which is in a village outside the town of Överkalix. It's a two hour drive from here. I haven't been there since 2006.
It's the thing that means most to mom and dad, and now that mom is retired they will get to spend a larger portion of the year there.
Mom and dad had some ideas for outings we can do while we're there. I'm sure that will be fun. My only wish was that we use the BBQ at least once. ^^ The weather isn't so great, so there will probably be no bathing or tanning, but we'll take trips with the boat at least.
On Monday we'll come back here so that I can meet with my friend Helen. On Tuesday my plane leaves at 10:35.
My brother Robert sent me a memory disc for my digital camera, so I can take many pictures while I'm here. That was nice of him.
