Oct. 1st, 2008 08:03 pmYesterday there was a fire drill at work. I had just sat down to eat my sandwich when it went off. It was just to grab my coffee mug, put on my coat and climb down the fire escape.
We all stood at the assemply point (a nearby football field) for about twenty minutes until the drill chief came and told us that eight people "had been trapped in the archive and perished" and did we know who those were.
One of those were our IT chief, who we had noticed was missing, especially since his mother is one of my co-workers, LOL. (The "diseased" had been informed of the drill in advance and hid themselves.)
The purpose of these drills is to measure how effecient peple are at evacuating and keeping check of their co-workers.
Our company is launching a new website tomorrow, and all employees got to have their picture taken for use on the web site. The photographer was quite good, so I'm pleased.
Today I also got confirmed that the lesbian girl at work is pregnant. (I'd suspected weight gain, *g*)
What's interesting is that she is the more "butch" one in the relationship. Her wife is much more feminine, and so I would have guessed that she would have been the one to carry the child. But there you go.
