On Sunday the weather was very warm and sunny. My parents and I took a long walk by the canal and all around the town. I felt very good to get to show off "my" town. Down at the floodgates there was a bridge opening, and the bridge operator knocked on the door when he saw us standing near the gates. We moved away, but then he stepped outside and told us we could open the gates and come inside the restricted area and take pictures during the procedure.

My parents were very happy about that, especially mom who is a big naval geek. After our walk we went to a cozy café and had lunch in their garden. In the evening we walked with their dog down the canal in the other direction and passed the building my company will move to next year.

On Monday we did some renovation work around the flat. We also went to the church's second hand shop and gave away some stuff I no longer need. Mom found a coffee set in the same 1960s china she has so she bought that. On Tuesday we went to the supermarket where I, at long last, bought a clothesrack for my hallway. Finally I have somewhere to hang my clothes except for the closet! In the afternoon we also went to the recycling place and threw away old junk I had stored in the cellar.

Yesterday I worked as usual, while mom and dad ran some chores and were treated to lunch at the golf course by my uncle and aunt. My uncle and aunt also helped them carry out some old paint buckets left in the cellar by the previous owner.

In the evening I went to the last Amnesty meeting before the summer break. It was very nice. We were at Allan's place (that's the 87 year old) and he was dressed up because his grandson had graduated from high school. His wife was still at the party.

I had asked mom to buy me a cake at the bakers and it was very much appreciated. We signed a card I had written and counted the money collected. I like our little group a lot. Allan also gave me his poetry book, with a dedication to me. Mom and dad have read some in it and they say it's very nice.

Today is Thursday and my brother's step son's high school graduation, and I have the day off from work. The party starts at five and I've bought a dress and shoes for the occasion. I haven't been to a graduation since my own, so I'm looking forward to it.

Now my parents and I will go to a kebab restaurant and have lunch. See you guys later!
