Parents' summer visit 2011
Jul. 10th, 2011 03:03 pmSo, I had a week off from work in the beginning of June. My brother's youngest step son graduated from high school, albeit with an incomplete grade so he'll have to take extra classes later.
My brother lives in a suburb outside of Stockholm, and these days I never go to Stockholm unless I'm going to visit him and his family. The graduation party was pretty nice, with good food and many guests. My brother Rickard was there with his family, and my parents who had flown down for a week. I stayed until late in the evening.
The day after - around noon on Saturday - my parents came and stayed with me until Tuesday when they travelled back up north. It was a very pleasant stay. We walked around town a lot, did some shopping, used my electric grill to make dinner (although mom's too scared of heights to eat on the balcony) that turned out great. The day of my choir's concert - which they attended - we went to an restaurant and had an early outdoor dinner.
Most notably, we went on full-day boating trip to the island of Birka, where the first Swedish town was founded in the 9th century AD.
