These last couple of weeks sure have been eventful!
Between 12 March and 3rd April, I and the cats lived with Malin while my bath room was demolished and re-built.
I decided to go with a full blown renovation instead of just fixing the broken wall, and I picked a local firm my brother recommended. I signed with their representative on Friday the 7th, and told Malin a few hours later as she came by for a popcorn-movie night, that I and the cats neededed to move in with her on Wednesday...
She had only a brief moment of panic at the thought of my cats rampaging her pet-free haven and then she was game. What a good friend she is!
We have had an absolutely fabulous time together. I thought it'd be weird to live with her again after all this time, but it went very smoothly. Commuting to work was easy, the cats (mostly) behaved and we didn't get into any fights.
During these three weeks we watched six seasons of Supernatural, had some really nice dinners, drank Borboun and wine, stayed up late talking and just generally had an awesome time. It was like being on a vacation/slumber party in my old neighborhood.
The last Saturday we went into town to have dinner at a nice greek restaurant and on Sunday we went out for burgers.
The cats acclimated extremely quickly! After a few hours they acted like they had always lived there. And when I moved back they adjusted quickly too.
The only thing that bothered them was the taxi ride, both times.
In fact I had a bigger problem with adjusting both times than they did!
The bathroom turned out really well! I'm hopeful it will raise the prize of my flat when I sell it in three months. My parents lent me the 75kkr that the renovation cost, so it'd better. Let's just say that's money I don't actually have... I owe a lot to Robert for driving me around Stockholm and buying tiles and bath room equipment. He helped me find quality items for under half my anticipated cost!
As for Supernatural, I'm well aware that I've been caught up in the emotional highs of bingewatching, but right now I'm at the ITS THE BEST SHOW EVER WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE stage. I get misty eyed at fanvids. Fanvids!
Once I start watching it in real time, I'll have a more level-headed relationship to it. And it's been picked up for season ten, so it will be with me for a while.
Having an ongoing canon to care about again has really made me happy. And there's fic to read (and hopefully, eventually, to write.)
