(Besides the ~lol children conceived in rape are abominations and women who get pregnant through rape should be killed lol~)
It builds on the myth building about child birth and motherhood that is so overdone and ridiculous. Death in child birth is not some natural, inevitable, tragic thing that transforms a woman into a brave martyr. It's very much something civilization and science can fight. (Side note: if a child birth in a future setting is extremely painful, it's because the writers don't understand that birth is a medical condition that can be treated medically. I'm looking at you, Voyager.)
In places where C-sections aren't available, the midwife is sometimes faced with the choice to kill the baby in a destructive delivery, or risk letting the mom die. Good thing Supernatural doesn't take place in such a time or place!
Sure, Kelly's baby is super powered, but that everyone until now has accepted the God-given truth that she will die giving birth is ridiculous.
And in this episode, when Kelly is told there's a chance to save both her and her baby, at the cost of his super powers, she decides she would rather die during birth than take his powers away from him.
Yeah, she's not even offering up her life in exchange for his, she wants to die to give the Earth a beautiful gift, to make up for her past shitty life. Blabla bla.

In the real world, moms want to survive so they can stay with their children. They want to be moms.
