You know what it´s like in your dreams, you can have this </>amazing idea for a story, a film, an invention, or a project. And then you wake up and the idea sounds stupid.
:-(
That happened to me this morning. For some reason I always dream the most when I´ve woken up and fallen back to sleep because I realized I had another hour to go before the bell rings.
This time I dreamt that I read an interview with Elijah Wood where he talked about how after highschool he was kind of unsure of what to do so he joined the army and fought in the Gulf War for a year and a half, seeing a lot of killing and danger and shit. After the war was over he was this pretty, desillusioned teenager who didn´t believe in anything and just sort of drifted around, smoking, tortured by his memories. And then he stumbled on LOTR and went into it in that mood, but he was used to obey orders because if you don´t obey orders in the army you´re dead. So he never gave PJ any crap, he just sort of did what he was told, in his brooding, desillusioned sort of way. I posted to mailinglists that "you could write great fics about this, why hasn´t anyone written about this before?" and I was all excited AND THEN I WOKE UP.
And I realised that, not only did Elijah Wood not fight in the Gulf War, but he couldn´t because he was about ten years old at the time! GAH! I hate it when reality does that! I also dreamt, sadly, about the bloody death by narcotics of a CoS-castmember. :-(
Off to school!
