Advent! Only 4 weeks to go now!
Dec. 1st, 2002 09:22 amHappy first Advent to all of you who are Christian!
The countdown to the arrival of Jesus has begun.
Today is also the first day of the church year so there'll great rejoicing in the Swedish Church.
We´ve put up the electric candles *and* the electric church in the windows. We've also put up my mother´s tapestry with the gnome climbing up the ladder, (In Sweden we don´t have Santa, we have gnomes) one step every day from 1 December to 24 December when we celebrate Christmas, and not to forget, Malin's mom's gift Advent Calender. We've bought 24 small gifts to hang in it, I get the odd dates and Malin gets the even ones.
She is at work now and I got up early to get some writing done until 2 pm when we will meet at the hill for the annual Christmas/Advent fair that they hold at the open air museum. Very old-fashioned and crowded and nice. I am hoping to get some Christmas shopping done. And then we will go home and drink Gluhwein and light the first candle. Yum.
