Just a quick note to you all, since I probably won't have time to update the LJ during the next three days (yes X-mas is 3 days in this insane country), that I wish each and every one of you: Silver, Joanne, Jenny, Tom and Elenhin, a Merry, merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate.
This day has finally arrived and it feels weird. My first Christmas without my parents. And there´s hardly any snow outside! But it will be fine. Christmas doesn't mean as much as when you were a child, so it´s not the end of the world if it´s not perfect one year. I think I´ll go home next year and all the years to come.
I have just returned from the town. I spent an hour at a café since I thought that church started at 11 am but it started at noon. I was surprised to see so many people on the town, shopping and going to the cafés. That was really weird, don´t these people know it´s a holliday? lol.
Mom just called and it hurt a bit, hearing my brothers and Susanne and Dad, and they talked about how they went to church together, how they were going to play Trivial Pursuit together (which is my favourite game, and they never seem to want to play it when I am home!). It made me a bit sad, knowing that they are there and I am here, and knowing that this is the last year they´re all together. Next year it will just be me and mom and dad. And in 2004 Rickard and Susanne will come home, but that´s two years from now and Robert is never coming home again! *sighs* I love my family.
The church was lovely, although it was weird to not be in the big cathedral of Luleå with my entire family. But it was nice, they had a girls choir who were dressed up as angels with wings and glitter. They were so cute! Then I took the bus home, and here I am. Malin is at work, putting in her mandatory four hours and she'll be home at 3 pm. Then we´ll see traditional television shows and then dig into the yuleboard. Yum! Then follows even more traditional television shows, then we'll open all the presents (Squee!) and then there'll be massive feasting on chocolates, pastry with cream and my mom's cloudberry jam, candy and mandarines. And punsch! (Punsch which I had to stand in line for for one hour at the state monopoly store. Yikes.)
I sent the presents for mom&dad and my brothers with my brothers on Friday, and yesterday I did the last shopping. The big Christmas ham, TTT soundtrack for myself (squee!), the TTT poster for Malin (the one with the towers), sexy lingerie for her, and the most masculine silver ring I could find for SBB.
I did love TTT, especially the Balrog scenes, Gollum, and the Ents, but I won't go into it here. I *love* the TTT soundtrack, especially Gollum's song which makes me want to cry everytime I hear it. Who will Gollum celebrate Christmas with? Probably no one. *sniff* I want to be his mommy!
Finally, for those of you who don´t know already know it, Ian McKellen has finally spoken out about RP-fics about him. It's in his latest epost and he says that they seem "unobjectionable".
Merry Christmas!
