Goes into pimp mode... now!
Mar. 22nd, 2003 05:58 pmPosted this at All Fandom Recs so I thought I'd post it here as well.
"Prophecy, Destiny and Design" by Pecos is something as rare as an
exciting, intriguing and perfectly believable RPS AU in the LOTR fandom.
The plot may be outrageous at times but it's never over the top and
always executed with class and wit. The characterizations are wonderful
and the language is great. Original characters are heavily featured and
always fleshed out. This is one of those slash stories where there are
*actual* women, which is refreshing. There is tasteful angst, tasteful
sex, necessary violence and unexpected plot twists. One thing that is
consistent throughout the story is the humorous tone and irony. The
angst is sometimes almost unbearable, but the rich detail and anecdotes
will have you smiling... constantly.
I won't say anything else... but Peter Jackson actually *hits* someone.
Hilarious.
Bear in mind that this is a novel length story, which is up to 19
chapters so far. Trust me though, it will keep your interest up the
entire time.
Summary: the end of the world, cloning, top secret experiments,
religious cults, secret societies, former CIA-agents, evil government
people, mysterious plagues, telepathy and homosexuality.
