In 1991 when I was 12 I was at my best friend's house when I stumbled upon the 2nd or 3rd episode of a TV program called Moonbase Alpha or as it was originally titled: Space 1999. This was a year before I saw Star Wars and a year and a half before I saw Star Trek. I was absolutely mesmerized by the show and it put me in a tough spot:

My house didn't have Cable TV so I was dependent on my friend to get access to the show. I would call her up on Tuesdays and Thursdays and ask to come over (*wink wink, nudge nudge*). This allowed me to watch the show for almost a month. Eventually, the day before Easter, she put a stop to it, saying that I was only using her to watch the show. She may have softened and allowed me to watch a couple of episodes after that, I honestly don't remember. But I'm sure I didn't watch past the first season.

Now, 22 years later, I find that both seasons have been uploaded to YouTube. Being a child who likes old or rare TV-shows must be so much easier today!

The first season intro is one of the best TV show intros ever:

Here's the first episode:

Nice! I'm glad you found it. It's always nice to recover a missing thing from your childhood, and I'm glad you got this one back.
