kribbanToday my uncle Bertil calls me up and asks if I want to swing by their house at six-ish and collect apples for my parents when I go visit them next week. I agreed and after six I printed out a map from the Internet and set out. Naturally, I took several wrong turns and ended up completely lost. I was in another part of the neighbourhood at one point and decided to go back. It was almost pitch black and the map didn't have all the street names. I started thinking if I got raped it would be the fault of a map and my own stupidity (I had passed several people I could have asked for directions but opted not to.) I finally found a very dark little pathway up a hill and surrounded by forrest that I thought was finally right. As I see a dog walking couple approaching me I debate with myself whether to ask for directions or not, if only to prove that I'm on the right trail. I do and they tell me I have to turn around! I don't want to think about what could have happened had I not asked them and just continued walking... The very nice couple walk with me until I reach another hill and they tell me the street I'm looking for is on the other side. Lucky for me I ran into them!
Finally at my uncle's house I find him chopping moose meat for my cousin and her husband who are in town on business (they own a bus touring company) and my other cousin is their. So we chat and eventually have dinner (a welcome surprise) which consists of deer, moose, potatoes & chanterelles. Very yummy. After that we got ice crem and candy and coffee. Finally at nine thirty they realise it's too late and they should drive me home. I got minced moose meat, apple sauce, tomatoes and a heck of a lot of pears and apples (including those I will bring to Luleå) so my cousin and her husband drive me home and then help me carry everything up to our apartment. I show them the place and then Malin goes to the bath room, naked, in front of everyone. They just laugh and go "Yeah, that's what happens when you're not used to having anyone else around the house. We're like that too." Then she comes out and says hello and we talk some more before they go.
Now I'm having a drink and relaxing. Malin agrees that Ann-Marie, my cousin, and her Ulrik, her husband, seem like pretty cool people. She thought the latter looked like a mischevious school boy (I agree.) Plus Douglas liked them instantly.
