So this morning I had a meeting with the personel director about the job I had applied for. She was very upfront and told me within two minutes that I wasn't going to get the job but that she wanted to talk to me about my future within the corporate group.

She wanted to know about my abilities and thoughts for the future, what other companies I could imagine working for etc, what plans and ideas I have.

She also said she thought I was brave to apply for this job. We talked for about half an hour and towards the end she asked if I had any questions. I said only one, does my boss know about this? She said no and asked if it was important for me that he didn't.

At that point I embarrassingly enough got a bit teary eyed and said yes because he has lost three members of staff in a short time. She wanted to know if I had any problems and that it wouldn't leave the room.

I said I feel a bit too responsible sometimes and that everything always doesnt run smoothly. She said my boss had told her he was disappointed at losing three employees.

All in all it felt quite positive. I really felt she took an interest in me and that it might lead to a future for me in other parts of the corporate group.
