Assorted things
Jun. 3rd, 2008 10:36 pmIt's June now and the weather is bright sunny and 25 degrees Celsius. It's three years since I've had my break down. Time sure flies, eh? A much nicer "anniversary" is that on Thursday it will be ten years since I graduated high school!
On the one hand, these ten years have flown by really fast. On the other hand it seems like twenty years ago when you think back at all the things that have happened. And yet, in many ways I'm still the same person. :-)
The only thing I hope for the next ten years is that my parents stay healthy and alive. Otherwise I can continue like this forever. :-)
Friday is Sweden's National Day so we only work until one on Thursday and then we have the rest of the week off. I'm quite looking forward to it. Long weekends are always so much more relaxing than a regular weekend.
I might check out some high school graduate parades if I run into any, but I won't go looking for them. I think after ten years I can let go of my pathological need to celebrate "end of term" with special food and flowers. Esp. since it coincides with another holiday this year.
Lastly, some news about my mom. I may have mentioned before that she is being downsized from her job at Church of Sweden after working there for twenty years. She finally heard last week that they have decided to go along with my brother's suggestion and offer her early retirenment instead.
She is extremely pleased about this since she felt pretty horrible about being unemployed again only two years before retirenment. My dad is already retired and quite healthy, so they'll finally have all the time in the world to do things together.
