The end of an era
Aug. 31st, 2012 03:43 pmI feel a bit numb. It's sad, of course, but I'm ridiculously excited about where I'm going, and took great joy in unplugging myself from the phone lines and e-mail groups connected to my old job. A lot of my colleagues - especially the sales people - have gotten used to call or e-mail me with questions or things they need done, but as of two hours; none of that is my responsibility!
Before I left, I sent out an e-mail thanking my colleagues for these years and wishing them luck on their new jobs. Our boss, who has only been with us for two years, is a nice girl, but not the kind who would do something like that. Also, it gave me the satisfaction of sending out a "Look at me! I'm out the door! Even though it's just an internal re-placement, I'm going somewhere!" - message.
It still hasn't quite sunk in, but I'm sure it will over the next couple of weeks.
