Dec. 9th, 2012 09:57 amI had potato and pork dumplings last night and they were even more disgusting than usual. The only ones they sell here are the "southern style" dumplings made of wheat flour and boiled potatoes. I only get them because I can't get the northern style that I grew up with (barley flour and raw potatoes) but they're usually okay.
This time however they were full of disgusting allspice and I can still taste it now, twelve hours later, despite two cups of sweet tea.
In other news, it's 2nd Advent today and I won't be going to church for the second time. The Catholic mass already started, and the protestant one starts in 40 minutes. Somehow I never have the energy to go outside early on Sundays.
Plus the idea of sitting down for an hour and listening unnerves me. I need to keep my mind busy.
I still haven't done the cleaning needed. And I need to start putting up some of the decorations.
Part of that is that I have to wait for my new furniture to arrive on Tuesday, and part of that is that my OCD makes me feel I'm not ready to face Christmas. More on that later.
In other news: Metallica has made their content available on Spotify. One of the wonderful things they've done is their mash-up concert with the SF symphony orchestra. I've been listening to it all weekend.
