Dec. 10th, 2012 08:19 pmI finally took Ragnar to the vet today. We were there for over two hours and it coest me 400 EUR including the diet food, and my clothes are covered with fur and some blood (!) but the gist is this:
He is severely obese but he doesn't have any of the injuries that come with obsesity. The fat is pressing on his lungs which might make his upper airways tighter, but his spine and hips and lungs are completely uninjured.
She said his sniffles and crying might be a chronic virus infection, and that the bad fur could be because he can't clean himself but it could also be a deficiency, which the results from the blood tests will tell.
I got 2 kg of a weight loss vet food, and a measuring cup. 40 gram twice a day, not a crumb more.
I feel really relieved about this. I'm in charge of his health now, and I'll make sure he gets better.
