Jun. 21st, 2006 02:01 pmWell we have been to the golf course and had our goodbye lunch for Ingemar. The surprising thing is that after we had eaten he took his car and left for a job interview, and he is not going back tomorrow.
With vacation and all, it means this was his last hour at the company. :-( He will be coming back to clean out his desk, and we told him we want him to come back for cake (and present, although we didn't say that.) He's a very shy person so he didn't seem too excited about it, so perhaps will just buy him a gift and take him out for coffee.
The upside of it is the new guys can get a desk each now. :-)
Now for something happier:
I'm a member of the staff fraternity - a group that arranges activities etc. for the employees.
Since we're not getting a summer gift this year, we thought we should arrange a summery activity to mark the "end of term" since many go on their vacations next week.
I suggested we do a sing a long with summer songs (hugely popular activity in Sweden) and another woman suggested we also buy strawberries and ice cream.
I have picked the songs and have made little lyric books, printed in colour and with wire-o binding. My co-worker just arrived with the strawberriesm, ice cream and paper plates.
It starts in thirty minutes, so now it's time to go and set things up. I think it will be much fun. :-)
