Questions that need answering

kribbanMalin's at work. It's 5 pm but feels like morning. Looking through The Books. Eating chocolate-oatmeal gue that I made yesterday. Yum. I saw City of Angels on TV last night. I've been avoiding it because A) I haven't seen Heavens over Berlin yet, and B) I don´t really like re-makes. Still, it made me cry. The ending was very beautiful and dealt with one of my favourite subject matters (trying not to spoil the film). The final scene was breathtakingly beautiful. Yay! for hopeful life-is-worth-living-films. And this film must go down in history as having one of the best soundtracks of all time. U2's "Please", Alanis' "Unforgiven" and Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" in one film. Soon I will do something useful. I've five hours of computer-time until Malin comes home.
There are two things right now that I can't for the life of me understand. See if you can, dear friends.

bagend where a person dissed a fic I had written. Having checked it out, it became clear to me that the person in question had not read the fic. They had read the header. The header!
Now, regardless of the fact that I can't understand why a person would diss/praise/have any kind of opinion about a fic they hadn't read, this is not what annoyed me. In fact, it relieved me a little, because this way I didn't have to take the person's very vocal opinions seriously. What *did* upset me, was that after I had written a very un-shocked, polite, "you-crack-me-up-with-your-mistake"-letter to this individual, I didn't receive a reply.
I don't get that. What is up with people who won't defend themselves/their opinion?
Why? I mean, A writes stuff about B, B responds, A responds to B's response. That's the way it's done EVEN if A and B hate each other, right? Or do these people just lack a sense of honour? Personally, even if I never want to hear from a person again, I will write a response to any letter directed to me. It's fucking manners. And you most *definitely* defend yourself alt. admit defeat. I've been online for five years now, and I've never seen anything like it. I'm not as pissed off as I sound, just... confused.
2. I've seen TTT trailer several times now, and there's one question always burning in my mind afterwards. Why is Treebeard chasing (and catching) Pippin? Or is this NOT Treebeard? Why is Pippin running, anyway? Granted I've only read TTT once, but I was very touched by what a gentle creature Treebeard seemed to be.
Now I shall do useful things!
