As readers of this LJ knows, I'm watching through nine seasons of SG-1.
Last night I watched Heroes pt 1 & 2. It made me very depressed. I think it shows well how terrifying and awful war is. I woke up dreaming about war last night.
Janet's death depressed me a lot more than Daniel's, partly because I knew he was coming back, but also because where his death was poignant and touching, hers was brutal and meaningless.
The most effective way to show the mourning of the other staff was O'Neill's respect when he was submitting to being interviewed at the end. I like how the reporter was portrayed as sympathetic and respectworthy even if his opinions often clashed with the others.
One weird thing is that they didn't show Cassie, who has now lost the only parent she has ever known.
Season 7 is very dark, on the whole. Man, now I need to find some funny fics....
