Bridge Run 2007
Jun. 2nd, 2007 09:09 pmLena and I completed the track in 73 minutes. We had aimed for 80 minutes, estimating 10 minutes per km, so we were very pleased.
The track was much fun, along some of the most beatiful places of Södertälje. We crossed three bridges (hence the name) and the weather was warm and sunny. Two of the bridges are very high up and you get to see a lot of scenery when you cross them. The weather was very warm and sunny.
It felt good pretty much the whole time. Only at one or two points did I feel a bit tired, but mostly I just felt energetic. In fact, I seemed to have more energy than Lena.
One woman impressed me a lot. She was around forty and quite heavy, but she walked quite fast and reached goal the same time we did.
There were two water stations and a heck of a lot of volunteers. Many of the volunteers were kids, including my co-worker's daughter who is a runner herself but couldn't compete due to having been sick. There were also people out cheering.
When we reached goal they handed out power bars with barley and banana. It tasted very good and I figured it would be loaded with sugar but it wasn't.
Everyone also got small plaques that showed you had competed. I put mine on the message board in the kitchen.
Now I've showered and am waiting for my dinner to be ready. Hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow, haha!
