St Lucia and work
Dec. 13th, 2007 09:43 pmToday is St Lucia Day. In the morning everyone (except Roland who opted to stay and watch the phones) went down in the cafeteria where we got lucia buns and gingerbread and watched the Lucia performance. They had hired the real city Lucia this year and the girls all did a fine job singing.
The rest of the day was busy. I had a two hour project meeting, a lot of letters to send out, and in the afternoon a coupld of contracts came in that needed registering. For instance Patric got in a big customer with 20+ estates that Lena, Anette and I registered.
After work I went to the gym and then I went home and ate rice pudding which I always eat on Lucia.
Tomorrow is an important deadline in the business so we expect to have another busy day. We also have a department meeting and the monthly company meeting. During the latter the employee club will serve Glögg (non-alcoholic) and treats, so I'll be there early and help set it up.
Two other members did the shopping today. I told them to spare no expense since we have to use up our budgeted money before new years, and they came back with six paper bags full of decorations and treats. It will be fun to dig into that tomorrow. ;)
Last night when I was talking to mom she said the church where she works would have a Lucia mass tonight so she'd work then. They had gotten a hold of a Lucia for sure (a ninth grader) but she wasn't sure how many maidens (those girls who carry a candle and wear tinsel) would show up, lol.
I was a maiden seven times in that chuch and one of the things I loved about it was that you got to use real candles and not the electric ones the schools force you to use. I asked mom last night if the sraff would sit up front with buckets of water, and she said, no, with buckets of soaked towels! lol
