Yesterday was a monthly deadline at work and since my co-worker managed to get in a huge contract via fax just before closing time I worked two hours over to help her register it. I made sure to log the over-time before I went so I'll get the compensation on next month's pay. I missed my laundry time but once at home it turned out that no one had booked the laundry room after me so I could still use it.

Today I've been to the gym and in the afternoon I went to the grocery store. While there I heard a man discussing the odds of tonight's finale with the book keeper before placing a bet on one of the contestants.

I guess this illustrates how important the ESC tryouts are in Sweden. It wasn't always so. In the nineties the contest was considered lame and hardly any established artists participated. But now with the five week extravaganza and a huge varitety of artists it is again Sweden's no 1 TV entertainment.

After five weeks 32 songs have become 10 and those 10 compete tonight. My friend Lena had tickets to the dress rehearsal last night and she said audience reaction was very strong to two songs I had not considered high-odds. So who knows, perhaps the field really is open.

All I hope is that we get a worthy winner to send to Belgrad.

In other news: at the store I bought Easter twigs which are now in water, waiting to be dressed with feathers next week, and two kinds of pickled herring. I'll do the rest of my Easter shopping on Wednesday.
