Yay, Easter
Mar. 21st, 2008 12:09 amSo it's Maundy Thursday today and the first day of Easter. Today we worked until one pm, which meant the cafeteria served the traditional rice pudding around nine thirty.
After work I went to the gym. In the evening I did laundry, cleaned some and watched Torchwood with
silversolitaire. Talk about depressing episode! But there's a new one this weekend so I'm still pleased.
Yesterday I did my Easter shopping after work. I bought all the remaining food, a bottle of wine and 1 kg (!) of assorted candy. I've sealed the candy and stuck it at the back of the top cabinet so I won't be tempted to open it until Saturday.
I decided a few weeks back to make my own gravlax for Easter. I've bought a salmon filé that I've stuck in the freezer to kill potential parasites. Tomorrow I'll thaw it and start the raw spicing process. I hope it turns out all right.
Tomorrow evening I'll be making my traditional Good Friday chicken, but without sherry this year because I'm out of it and I don't think it's worth it to buy a whole bottle.
On Easter Eve
elenhinstar is coming over for dinner.
The twigs I bought last weekend are finally starting to blossom. I'll dress them with feathers tomorrow. I have no other Easter decorations.
I quite look forward to having four days off work now. I'll go to church and to the gym twice each but other than that I shall just be home, stuffing myself and watching TV.
