Return from the Other Dimension

I'm back from Luleå where I have visited my mom and dad and my best friend Helen.
It was fun and relaxing, but also really weird, going back to my home town like that. I haven't been there for a year, and I've never been home in the middle of the semester like this, it´s always been on hollidays when I didn't have to worry about returning to school again.
Why is going back to your home town like entering another dimension? I was immediately teleported back to the past, the familiar surroundings, sleeping in my old room. Mom and dad and I did the sort of things we did when I was a kid, going to a bazar in a church, going to an opening of a church youth center, driving around visiting relatives etc. I saw people I haven´t seen in a while. And Helen and I spent some time together which was nice since I haven't seen her for a year either. I went to her house (squee!) where she lives with her parents and she came over to my parents' apartment. She was so lovely, she immediately hugged me and was excited to see me (which is unusual for her) and she told me to go with her to a CD-store and pick out a CD for her to buy me as a bithday/Christmas present. Awww...
And now I´m back, which is OK. I'm glad we didn´t go to the neighbourhood where I grew up (my parents and I moved into town when I was sixteen) because that would have been really weird. Talk about another dimension! My mom still works there at the church, but I haven't been there since a brief visit in 2000. It's funny, I've always kept my life compartmentalized. When Helen came out to visit Malin and I it was like the two realities were blending or something. lol.
Anyway, I'm back and today I'm off from school. Malin is sick. We will clean, decorate, put up the Christmas tree and do some Christmas baking. Can you say ginger bread? Can you say saffron bread? Can you say butterscotch? And then of course I will have to pull myself up in my boot straps and start writing the final chapter of CI. *hugs you all*
