Yesterday I had my exam for my final course. It took five hours and I don't know how it went. It was this really sadistic set-up where you had to answer 50 % of the questions of the first section correctly in order to qualify for the second and third section.

I answered all the questions on the second and third section nearly perfectly, which took about three and a half hours. The first section was incredibly hard though, and it's very possible I didn't get 50 % correct answers which means I'll have to re-take it. If that happens, I'm OK with it, and I will be a lot better next time. Plus, the most difficult and time-consuming part of the examination - the seminar series - is finished.

On Tuesday the second semester starts. Not much rest, no. :)

I vow, (vow I tell you!) to study more this semester, to start study earlier, to be more diligent, not waste time on the Internet etc.

This semester will, if nothing else, be a lot easier financially. I'm getting more in student aid, was allowed to cut down my mortgage payment by 50 % and I won't have to pay my union fee for the duration of my studies! All in all I will have a little more than 150 EUR extra per month.

The union was also nice enough to re-pay my fee retroactively since September (!) I got the money yesterday, so to celebrate the end of the semester, I went to [livejournal.com profile] elenhinstar for Thai dinner and brought Hägen-Dazs ice cream and a bottle of sparkling wine. I also bought some groceries, including a tub of Ben & Jerry's Half-Baked... Mmmmm...
