Today is Malin's 40th birthday!
Oct. 23rd, 2013 08:15 pmWhich means fifteen years ago today I flew down to celebrate her birthday. (Come February, I will have lived in this city for fifteen years.) And fourteen years ago today was T.G.I. Friday's in Stockholm, and thirteen years ago was that long quiet day spent listening to the radio, baking, cooking and being home maker... See what birthdays do to you? They provide a handy reference point for you to remember the years going by.
The birthday girl herself is off in the UK on adventures with her secret gentleman friend (not boyfriend, boyfriend-ish) and she won't be back until Sunday. I don't think it's sad that I'm not with her. We broke up a long time ago and I'm glad I'm not the only friend she has. She promised to celebrate with me next week, and I told her to tell me what, where, when and how.
Malin at 40 is a much cooler, wiser and more laid-back person than Malin at 25, which is the way things are supposed to be.
She has always said she'll dump the cigarettes at 40, and she recently switched over to E-cigarettes which allows her to fulfill her promise while keeping her nicotine-addiction. Way to find a loop hole, Malin!
Happy Birthday, crazy girl!
