kribbanAccording to Jared and Jensen's panel at Houscon, Claire will be in episode 16. I'm a bit disappointed because episode 17 is the big Castiel-centric episode, and I really had my hopes up that they would meet this season.
I need my complicated, angsty, father-daughter relationship, damn it!
Oh well. Maybe she'll at least mention Castiel this time. *fingers crossed*
In other SPN news, this week's episode was so good!!
Supernatural is such an uneven show. I think that's why people who aren't hardcore fans drop out after a few seasons. I wasn't happy with last week's episode (overused storylines and emotions, clichés, weak characterization) but I'm overjoyed with this one. It hit all my buttons!
-A sympathetic, redeemable villain.
-Whom Sam and Dean are determined to save.
-Angels being shown as ruthless child killers.
-Castiel never shies away from the reality of what he did and is prepared to pay the ultimate price for it. (Also, you can't convince me he wasn't thinking about losing Claire during that last dialogue!!)
-Dean is prepared to die for Castiel and vice versa.
-The angel Benjamin's mutual relationship with his vessel!
With the exception of Hannah, we've never seen an angel who cares for their vessel. (When Castiel started to, it was already too late.)
It's also interesting how Castiel describes Benjamin's vessel as a "powerfully devout" who gave him everything, her trust, her body.
Did her faith make her body more capable of containing Benjamin? Did her acceptance of him make it easier for him? Or was it just that her friendship made the decades less lonely and grueling?
It reminds me a lot about Maychorian's wonderful AU where a perfectly joined angel/vessel pair is immensely more powerful than in a regular possession.
The fact that this was so obviously pointed out makes me wonder if we're not going to see another case of this on the show.
