kribbanHad an upsetting incident today.
Today I decided to buy some vegetables and BBQ in the yard. When I was lighting the grill a toddler walked up behind me on my blanket and picked up my BBG grids that was lying there.
I said sternly, "Don't touch my stuff" and took it from him.
His mom came and got him and said "You don't have to get angry, he's just a kid."
I said I wasn't angry and she said I sounded angry. She said that this was a playground and he had a right to be there. I didn't say anything.
The dad said that it's my responsibility to watch my belongings and "You don't fuck with us."
I remained very calm and said I'm not interested in conflict and went back to lighting the grill. I'm very proud that I didn't do anything to escalate the conflict, but it was still uncomfortable for me.
