There's nothing M would do to make me leave her. Not even if she murdered someone. I'd condemn her actions, but I'd still visit her in prison. We've been friends for 22 years, and we've been there for each other through thick and thin.
In 2014, her conspiracy-loving, thruth-seeking mind got caught in "alternative media," (i.e. YouTubers she finds reliable) started believing in the Bildenberg Group and "Globalists" etc etc. At first, Covid-19 was an "engineered biological weapon that will kill everyone", now it's just a "hoax by the globalists to overthrow the world-order". (She would call this change of position "learning new information.)
She loves Trump. Loves him.
She voted for the fringiest right-wing party on the ticket in the Swedish 2018 election. (They didn't get into parliament.)
None of this makes me the slightest bit inclined to stop being friends with her, which I understand is a great moral failing of mine. *sarcasm*
Look, I get it. Stakes are high, times are tough, it's time to take a STRONG MORAL STAND against evil and those who support it. But for my own part, I opt out. This is my best friend. My best friend of more years than many of you have been alive. My best friend who cries over BTS and loves plants and animals. I'm not cutting her out over anything. (Remember the scenario where she kills people?)
We've agreed not to discuss politics. She's doing okay for the most part. Thank God for BTS having a new album out to distract her.
