Phone calls from mom
Jun. 4th, 2003 10:18 pmSo my mom calls every wednesday. Tonight she wanted to know what I wanted her and dad to tell people about my love life since the "she is studying so she can't find a boyfriend" excuse was getting old. I didn“t know such excuse existed! Then she asks
Mom: "You know your aunt Rosa? She was never married, and she has a best friend called Siw... so what do you think?"
Me: "Well i have thought but not that much, Robert has thought most about that of us kids"
Mom: "Ok. But what do you think? I have thought, but I would never ask."
Me: "well, perhaps they are but perhaps they're just friends. Rosa is a baptist."
Mom: "What do you mean?"
Me: "Well maybe baptists don't think about such things?"
Mom: "Well there are lots of women who live together and are baptists and one of them can even be a preacher in the baptist congregation. Well not a lot but they exist. And you know we always say "Rosa and Siw" in one sentence. But I would never ask. But maybe you could? Did you talk about such things when you visited her?"
Me: "No!"
Mom: "Well, I just thought that you have more in common with your aunt Rosa then your other aunts!"
Very amusing! Though I was NOT amused when I told her that we're planning to put chicken net around the balcony so Douglas can't fall out and kill himself, and she said "But remember, he's only a cat. If he dies it's not the end of the world."
