Douglas almost died last night

kribbanIn the wee hours of the morning, at around four (Malin started working at 6 am) Douglas almost killed himself. We were having a crisis with screaming and crying (another story, bleh) when I suddenly saw Douglas standing in the flowerbox on the reiling of the balcony. We live on the 4th floor so it's a fifteen metre drop down to the concrete. He would have died if he fell.
We are always so scared that he will fall out through the railing but we've never seen him standing on the railing before. I started screaming and Malin told me to hush and then she slowly went out and grabbed him. Those seconds before she got to him were horrible. I've dreamt that he would fall so many times... It's our biggest fear. And he was just standing there in the flowerbox looking dumb like nothing at all was wrong. He doesn't understand what danger is. He believes he will never fall. Why is he like that?
*shudders* I don't know what we are going to but we have to do something. Douglas cannot die.
