Old friends
Aug. 18th, 2003 01:31 pmI'm achy all over, has been for days. All my muscles hurt when I move or laugh. I took painkillers yesterday. Anyway last night I went to Stockholm and saw my Philosopher friends. One I already knew couldn't come and another called and cancelled while we were there which was a great disappointment since I had really wanted to se her. But two of the gang were there, and another old philosophy student I didn't hang out with that much when we were in school, Ellinora. There was also a great number of other people who knew Johannes one way or the other.
We didn't have a picnic like we'd planned which in a way was disappointing but it wasn't too much of a problem since A) wine was pretty cheap at the restaurant and B) this way I still have my big yummy bottle of strong strawberry cider! We were at a restaurant called Carmen which pretty much looks like a dump but apparently is a very popular and "cool" place, and soon it was absolutely crammed with people. We arrived at 5.30 and left at 11 pm! I was a bit tired-sick at first so I had a pepsi and later I had a yummy glass of wine.
After a couple of hours all the other people in our party left and it was just the four of us. When philosophy students get drunk they talk. A lot. I've listened to so many deep conversations and I've participated in so many deep conversations last night my ears are sore. It was very nice seeing most of the gang, even if some where missing, again. We had a nice group hug on the street and Jörgen said how wondeful it was to see us again and "We must do better than seeing each other with six months in between like this!" They are all so sensitive and sweet.
I didn't get home until twenty minutes past midnight but Malin loves staying up late alone so it wasn't a problem, and she had turned on the grill so that we could start grilling the minute I got back, which we did. Very nice. And while we ate the food we saw E.T. which was also nice.
