Have slept a bit. Will sleep more in a bit. Jimmy and SBB were here last night and stayed over. I managed to convince Malin to see the late night re-run of The Afflicted Ones and she loved it. She's now absolutely hooked on the show and can't wait for tonight when the new episode airs. That's good because now she'll watch it with me. Squee! I love mutual obsessions!
Afterwards we saw a show on Discovery about people who wanted to amputate limbs. At first I thought "Hey they're just whackos!" but as the show went on I began to really sympathize for these people. They're not insane or mad, just perfectly normal people who have felt an immense grief their entire life because they could not feel whole with the offending limb still intact. And then I thought, what's the difference really between this and transexualism? I mean I'm all for sex change so why not this? The show was very sad because it depicted how two people, Corrinne and Gregg, fought for their right to remove their legs and for people to understand them.
